"Traditionally, brides did not wear white wedding gowns. Through the 18th century, most brides just wore their Sunday best to their wedding. Red was a favorite during the Middle Ages in Europe. Other colors were worn for symbolic reasons: blue meant constancy and green meant youth. As years passed, white was worn as a symbol of purity. Today, white merely symbolizes the wedding and is worn by any bride."

The Wedding Dress!
Here is a Fun Fact about Wedding Dresses, with pictures from three different weddings I shot! I am so amazed how beautiful a dress can be, on and off! ;)

Fun Wedding Fact: "The Cake"
The next several days I will be blogging about some fun wedding facts I found! What a Hoot! I'm so glad we have come along way since the Ancient Romans! I found this fun fact about wedding cakes!
"The wedding cake has always played an important part in the wedding. Ancient Romans broke a cake over the bride's head to symbolize fertility or abundance. Many other cultures dropped wheat, flour or cake on the bride's head, and then ate the crumbs for good luck. The early British baked baskets of dry crackers, and every guest took one home after the wedding. In medieval times, guests brought small cakes and piled them on a table. The bride and groom then attempted to kiss over the cakes. Eventually, a young baker decided to put all the cakes together and cover them with frosting, thus the tiered wedding cake was born."

Kids!
I LOVE photographing kids! The things they say to me, the fun we have, they just make me smile! ;) While baby sister did not do the talking, except for those big blue eyes of hers, brother and I discussed Pokemon and other important things in his life! Here the two are!

One of my favs! Wearing Daddy's Shoes!

And I just think this is so sweet. A natural, how we always want to remember our children. So innocent, so sweet!

Old and Forgotten....
They sat there and collected dust on the window ledge forever. For one, it had be 365 days times 9 which is somewhere around 3,285 days later......I bit the dust. I developed old disposable cameras, that I had no idea what would be on them. We got them back. Ean and I really laughed hard at 18 month old Mica. She didn't think it was so funny. :) I also enjoyed see Ean as a baby again. Well with agreement, the kids said I could post this. It is one of my favorites. ;) Ean at front, Mica in the back....Of course, Mom in front of camera! I'm guessing the year at 2005. Not bad for disposable I must say! I hope this encourages you all to do the same. My next thing will be to convert my video tapes to DVD!

Kennedy 9 Months!
I LOVE life-styled portraits! I know I have done my job when I leave there, and the parents can look back and say, I did capture their daughter/(sons) life. Kennedy, when I got there, I thought she was used to me. But, with teeth coming in or anything else that might be bothering her, she was not to kind for me being in her business. But that is O.K. You make me smile, Kennedy, anyway!

Christmas Cut-Offs
Well Saturday the 19th of December is just 5 days away from Christmas. I do have three photo shoots scheduled for tomorrow, we'll see what the weather brings! My last day to take orders for prints was today. If it is a HUGE emergency, call me, I'll see what I can do, but lately, Fed EX or UPs has hired outside contractors that cant even seem to find my house, where packages get delivered daily. If I don't answer your call, PLEASE leave a message. My goal is Saturday evening I revert to M-O-M and to take care of my family. There has to be a balance, so I am going to refresh and renew, and begin to embrace the true meaning of Christmas. I will start back after January with SO MANY NEW THINGS TO COME! Truly, I am EXCITED ABOUT 2010! NEW NEW NEW THINGS TO COME!
Call me, but only if you have to....I will still love to get your call and make your Christmas too!
